Lead Preschool Teacher

Location: NE Portland, OR
Type: Full-time (Year-Round)
Pay: $18 - $26 per hour

Explorer Learning Academy – NE, part of the ELA PDX, LLC network and a sister company to Education Explorers, is hiring a Lead Preschool Teacher to help guide and nurture our preschool learners in a vibrant, culturally responsive environment. This is a year-round position for an experienced educator who believes in the brilliance of young children and the power of play, identity-affirming curriculum, and strong family partnerships.

As Lead Teacher, you will design and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum, maintain a safe and inviting classroom, and support each child’s growth across all developmental domains.

Qualifications:

  • Must pass a background check.

  • Must be eligible to hold a Certified Family Child Care license in your name.

  • Step 8 in the Oregon Registry Online (ORO) or commitment to complete the training to achieve Step 8 within six (6) months of hire.

  • Proficient in using digital tools, including:

    • Playground (parent communication and attendance)

    • Google email and drive tools

  • Strong foundation in early childhood development and a culturally responsive approach to teaching.

  • A passion for creating inclusive, joyful learning environments that reflect the children and communities we serve.
